HOW TO CREATE A COUNTER STRIKE 1.6 SERVER Part 6: Install AMX Mod X

Now we shall learn how to install AMX Mod X. There are two different way to install it.

1.      Automatic method

2.      Manual installation  

1. Automatic method: If you use this method, no need to install metamod to your server it will also install metamod automatically to your server. Now you have to download AMX Mod X Full Installer. Click here to download. In this page you will found total list of Mods with their latest version. Click on the latest version. In next page you have to select a mirror by clicking it. Your download will be start automatically. After successful download install that AMX Mod X Full Installer in your computer. Now run your AMX Mod X Full Installer, you will found 5 types of installation process. Four for local server & one for remote server. As we are talking about local server we will discuss local installation. The best way I have found that is “Select mod directory”. Mark this option from installation screen. A new window will appear there you have to choose you server’s mod directory i.e. cstrike folder just select your cstrike folder & choose game addon (i.e. Counter-Strike) from drop down list. Click on ok button. Install process will start & your AMX Mod X will install automatically. If you want to update AMX Mod X just follow the same process. After clicking on ok you will get a new window containing three options Yes, No & Cancel. Yes option will reinstall the old files, No option will update with new files & Cancel option will abort the installation process. If your server is already in running status restart your server. N.B.: If you use this option AMX Mod X Studio will be installed automatically it’s a very helpful tool to make AMX plugins. You can make your own plugins using this software.
2. Manual installation: If you use this option, you have to download AMX Mod X Base & Counter-Strike Addon. Click here to download both of them. Click on latest version name & select a mirror from the list. Your download will start automatically. After successful download just unzip both of them in the cstrike folder. First you have to unzip AMX Mod X Base then Counter-Strike Addon. A pop-up will appear click on yes to all option. Now go to the metamod folder and open plugins.ini file using notepad or wordpad and write this line win32 addons\amxmodx\dlls\amxmodx_mm.dll save & close the plugins.ini file. If your server is in running status you have to restart your server.
